Goode Durrant: on the road

Article Abstract:

Goode Durrant is a UK cabin and vehicle rental concern, and has moved out of construction and vehicle distribution. The company is benefiting from a trend toward renting as a more flexible and less expensive alternative to purchasing. Cabin and container hire accounts for some 10% of the company's profit. Borrowings have increased due to investment in vehicles, but interest payments are well covered. The company's profit is forecast at 24 million pounds sterling by BZW for 1996 to 1997.

Eurodollar

Article Abstract:

Eurodollar's share price was affected by a drop in the valueof nearly-new cars in 1995. Manufacturers have cut supplies of vehicles to car hire companies in 1996, and this has helped boost the price of nearly-new vehicles, benefiting hirers when they sell the vehicles. Eurodollar has increased underwriting coverage for its fleet as a precaution in case resale prices drop again. The company's profit is forecast at some 8.5 million pounds sterling for 1996 to 1997.
