Graphic news

Article Abstract:

Few people pay much attention to the ubiquitous illustrations which serve as the background for TV news broadcasts. Some may deride these illustrations as unartistic but it cannot be denied that they can sometimes acquire a certain timelessness, reminding people of a historical event which took place. Inventor Dean Kamen points out that wheelchair technology has not changed since the 1800s. He has removed the old technology to create a device that can climb stairs and move like a biped, as a stable personal transport system. The IBOT personal transporter has six wheels with three modes of operation and uses sophisticated instant-response motors, computers and proprietary software.
