Growing up into a leading European city

Article Abstract:

Cardiff, Wales, is set to grow more than all other UK cities in the five years from 1995. Transport and communications industries are to expand, and the Cardiff Bay development will inject growth, as will the Second Severn Crossing. The city should become a major center for business and financial services. Second hand office space is available, though good quality space is scarcer. The real estate industry is still cautious, but economic prospects mean that its long-term future in Cardiff is promising.

Colossal task at the Bay is well in hand

Article Abstract:

Cardiff Bay is undergoing redevelopment and the Cardiff Baty Development Corporation has made good progress in redeveloping the city's port area. A plan to invest 93 million pounds sterling in a barrage for Cardiff Bay has met with opposition from environmental groups. Over 2,000 new homes have been contructed in the area, or are being built. An opera house is also planned using private donations and public funds to meet the cost, estimated at 87 million pounds sterling.
