Article Abstract:

The first histone deacetylase (HDAC) inhibitor has overcome the first hurdle as it has got the approval by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in October 2006. The development of Zolinza, from Merck in Whitehouse Station, New Jersey, for treating a rare cancer, cutaneous T-cell lymphoma is kept very low, as there is an aggressive development by industry and the National Cancer Institute to bring HDAC inhibitors to market for every major tumor type.
