High Tech Takes Off

Article Abstract:

Business publications concerned with high technology experienced above average advertising volume. Microcomputer and software publications attracted advertisers where other business publications experienced advertising revenue declines. Companies in high technology must advertise to maintain consumer awareness. High technology companies require brand identification and the high tech business publications provide the exposure. Since competition is so intense, corporate image building is a major strategy.

Beatrice Foods has consolidated its advertising into seven advertising agencies. The realignment will reduce costs and benefit marketing efforts. The seven agencies will receive a performance review from Beatrice every six months. The consolidation will allow Beatrice to supervise its advertising.
