Microchips with that?

Article Abstract:

The internet, software, biotechnology, and other aspects of new technology are having a major impact on financial markets, and companies in traditional industries have seen their stock prices hit. Fund managers have become overweight in new economy stocks, but valuations have risen to frightening levels due to the scarcity of such stocks. This should ease as more new technology stocks become available. The US offers investors more opportunies to gain access to new technology stocks than do other countries, and Wall Street has performed well for investors, especially Nasdaq.

Safety in numbers

Article Abstract:

Technology stocks may be less risky than they appear since volatility and covariances are important. Other stocks can be held that are likely to move in difference directions from technology stocks. Low risk levels tend to mean that returns are also low.
