Image Associates diversifies to thrive

Article Abstract:

Image Associates Inc, before specializing in interactive media, started in 1984 by offering computer graphics for corporate slide presentations. However, with computer graphics becoming easier for customers to create themselves, the Raleigh, NC-based company decided to add services, such as custom color and black-and-white processing for corporate accounts and professional photographers. The additional services have helped Image Associates to grow 15%-20% each year, with up to $4 million in annual revenues.

La Jolla Photo & Imaging goes completely digital

Article Abstract:

La Jolla Photo and Imaging, based in La Jolla, CA, in 1998 became the second independent lab in the US to install a Fuji Frontier digital minilab. With the replacement of its Fuji Fujix 3000 and Pictrostat machines with the digital machine, La Jolla was converted into a 100% digital lab. Since La Jolla's owner Mike Stevens decided to shift to an all-digital lab, the company's sales have increased at least 20% annually, with 1999 seeing 50% increase over 1998.
