Interest rate derivatives in Asian currencies

Article Abstract:

The interest rate derivatives market in Asia has evolved through three different stages. Currency swaps, interest rate, and simple interest rate option products were the focus during the 1980s. During the late 1980s and early 1990s, more sophisticated products were introduced, such as quanto techniques and binary and path dependent options. During the 1990s, the focus has been on emerging markets and simple products.
