Invesco English and International Investment Trust

Article Abstract:

Invesco International and English Investment Trust has Andy Crossley as its lead fund manager. The trust invests in smaller firms quoted on the UK stock exchange and seek capital growth over the long term. Crossley aims to select undervalued stocks or sectors, and can diversify due to the large number of holdings, which permit some to be in higher risk areas. The fund has performed well over the medium term and long term, and is well-managed, though there is some risk involved, arising from the contrarian approach to selecting investments.

Vultures to profit from sickly trusts

Article Abstract:

Advance Developing Markets and Advance UK Trust are two United Kingdom investment trusts seeking to invest in other investment trusts with wide discounts to the net value of their assets. This could be a fruitful policy if the right trust is selected and ideas suggested to improve performance. Assets may underperform despite narrower discounts, and this could be a problem with trusts investing in emerging markets. Advance Developing Markets will be geared to such trusts.

Article Abstract:

Phoenix UK Fund is run by Phoenix Asset Management which plans to invite Phoenic UK investors to meetings to discuss holdings and answer questions. The managers assess companies in thre ways before deciding to make aninvestment: earnings have to be relatively predictable, the management team has to be competent and pro-stockholder, and the holding has to be available at a good price. There is a minimum investment of 100,000 pounds sterling, which increases risk levels.
