It pays to do some homework

Article Abstract:

Understanding traded options involves learning what the jargon means that is associated with this subject. Options have a limited lifespan and this means that dealines have to be adhered to, and positions need to be monitored. Investment software can help investors, and some software includes tutorials on pricing. Options trading has been carried out for longer in the US than in the UK, so much of the literature is written from a US viewpoint. Courses are also held by Liffe in the UK.

When fear gives way to complacency

Article Abstract:

Wage inflation tends to hit stock prices and indicates that attitudes to risk have changed. Wage inflation has been restrained in the 1990s which has helped stock prices in the United Kingdom. Stock prices tend to rise more after recessions when investors can gain more from taking risks. Wages also tend to rise less after recessions. United Kingdom unemployment has dropped and wage inflation is less than expected, which could mean that attitudes to risk have changed.
