It's enough to make anyone faint

Article Abstract:

There can be considerable risks associated with investing in the biotechnology sector. Most biotechnology companies are small, unprofitable and often fail to bring new products to the market. Furthermore, the fortunes of the biotechnology sector can be very closely linked with those of apparently unrelated sectors. However, for investors prepared to take a risk, the biotechnology sector offers considerable potential. It is possible to purchase exposure through investment and unit trusts specializing in biotechnology companies.

Pick-and-mix income from bond Peps

Article Abstract:

Self-select bond personal equity plans (Peps) for UK investors are being promoted by a number of stockbrokers, though not as much as by unit trust companies. Investors needing a high income are suited to these products, and low-cost select-select Peps can be assembled by investors who gain in certainties. Dealing costs increase with the number of bonds held, so investors should restrict themselves to two or three bonds if they aim for a 6,000 pounds sterling Pep.

Market artists make their marke: how do chartists get on in the real world?: how can private investors get started in using technical analysis to track their equity investments?

Article Abstract:

Chartists or technical analysts who rely on price graphs are often scorned by traditional, fundamental analysts who use information relating value rather than to price. However many chartists predicted the 1987 market crash based on a double top shape in the stock market's price graph. Chartists have to consider when to run and when to take a profit and have their own ways of deciding on stop-loss and profit levels.
