It's good to talk about telecoms

Article Abstract:

British Telecommunications (BT) has a dominant position in the UK telecommunications industry. There has been some liberalization, and prices have dropped. Regulations prevent BT from exercising its dominance as much as it could, and relaxation of regulations would affect competitors adversely. The number of UK cable operators is likely to fall in the two years from 1995, leaving from six to eight operators. Changes in technology mean that there is uncertainty over the future of the industry.
