JASSM, assailed by house, defended by Air Force

Article Abstract:

The Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile (JASSM) retains confidence of its Air Force patrons despite of the test failures and a blistering congressional commentary that raised questions about the missile's future. According to the congressional report on July 20 2004, the results indicated that mission reliability of JASSM was 53 percent, a success rate that compares unfavorably with those of similar weapons.

Article Abstract:

A Goodrich Corp. automated system for monitoring the health of aircraft, known as HUMS enables to assess the flight regime of the airplane. The various benefits, such as, performing regime recognition, it saves huge amounts of maintenance time, and also allows to extend the lives of those components.
