A growing number of companies have employed the use of concealed video cameras in maintaining the safety of their employees. Although this approach provides a potential solution for eradicating racial- or gender-based issues in the corporate environment, it raises a variety of privacy issues. Employees at the Grand Trunk Western Railroad, for instance, filed a lawsuit against company officials after they located a video camera hidden in one of the corners of the engineering room. The employees are seeking a minimum of $25,000 in damages for allegedly violating their right to privacy.
