Lab develops triple-sure soldier finder

Article Abstract:

Researchers at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory have come up with a device that combines the Global positioning system (GPS) technology with two other technologies to give warfighters a much greater chance of avoiding the peril of getting lost. The device called the Triply Redundant Integrated Navigation and Asset Visibility system (TRI-NAV), is small enough to carry, energy efficient and affordable to hand out widely to warfighters.

Defense work helps Rockwell Collins have 'most successful year'

Rockwell Collins, Inc., an aviation and electronic company, based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa reported a 17 percent gain in fiscal year 2004. This year is marks the most successful year in Rockwell's history with regards to sales, total segment operating margins and earnings per share.
