Letting someone else pay the bills: Simon and Schuster writes the book on outsourcing accounts payable

Article Abstract:

The Simon and Schuster publishing company of New Jersey has outsourced its accounts payable department to NPC of Cleveland, Ohio, a data processing subsidiary of National City Bank. The operation features an SAP purchase order module and an accounts payable system which converts paper invoices into files on CD-ROMs. The system has been praised by Simon and Shuster corporate disbursement director Richard Mignone for saving costs for the firm.
