Lockheed sees progress in selecting new ACS platform

Article Abstract:

Lockheed Martin Corp., which won the Aerial Common Sensor (ACS) contract in 2004 with a proposal that included a plane, the ERJ 145 made by Embraer, said that it is progressing in rebounding from its troubles with the ACS intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) sensors platform, an Army program that the Navy has also joined. Lockheed Martin made a recommendation to the Army, based on the results of the joint government-Lockheed Martin team's evaluation of alternatives, to resolve the problem with the ISR sensors platform,

Pentagon approves MMA development phase

Article Abstract:

The Pentagon announced that the Navy's Multi-mission Maritime Aircraft (MMA) program has received the approval of the Defense Acquisition Board (DAB) to enter into the advanced development stage. This decision, which was signed on June 4, 2004, resulted in the announcement of the company, namely Lockheed Martin or Boeing Co., which will be responsible for developing and producing the replacement for the aging P-3 Orion submarine-hunting and patrol aircraft.
