Article Abstract:

After the creation of a single European Market, the European Monetary Union launched the Euro as the cross-border currency. Will citizens of the European Union members accept it? How will it affect trade? and how will it fare against the dollar or the sterling pound? These are some of the questions raised by the launching of the Euro.

The launching of the European Monetary Union and replacement of their currencies by the Euro as a single currency has raised some questions on its effects on trade, monetary policies and their currencies. The effects on the economy by the creation of the European Central Bank is also another question being raised.
