Stocks of software firm Macromedia Inc. have gone down by 50% since reaching a $41 price in June 1996. However, observers see the company and its products as basically sound. Nevertheless, insider trading at Macromedia has been observed to be on the sell side. Macromedia officers who have recently disposed of stocks include Officer and Director James Vonehr, Pres. John Colligan, Divisional Officer Susan Byrd and VP Richard Wood.

America Online Inc, which provides easy and affordable Internet access, is recovering high share prices achieved in May 1996 which increased investors' confidence on the firm. However, company insiders continue to dispose high-priced shares. Latest insider activities reveal that eight executives expressed their plans to sell, or have already disposed of, 335,440 shares from Mar 4 to May 20, 1997 at $43.63-$50.76.

Nine Macromedia insiders have sold shares amounting to 319,735 split adjusted shares since Aug. 1995. Also, three other insiders have sold 150,000 shares in November, by virtue of a recent merger. The value of of the company's shares have been increasing at a phenomenal rate, rallying more than 33% in a span of 30 days.
