Making money in bear markets
Article Abstract:
There is concern that the UK stock market will see a drop in prices, but this could bring opportunities. Bear funds have been set up geared to bear markets. They invest in cash, and in futures which could bring in a profit if a particular index drops. The fund also buys call options to give protection in a bull market. Investors' predictions on timing of a stock market fall will influence whether they invest in bear funds, or money can be lost.
