Mergers igniting energy ad wave

Article Abstract:

The planned deregulation of the energy industry is expected to spark a major boom in business-to-business marketing which could surpass the present boom in the telecommunications industry. Industry analysts predict that energy-related companies could infuse millions of dollars into trade magazines, trade shows and other marketing channels as a result of the deregulation. All these efforts will geared towards creating a strong brand awareness and capture a larger market share.

On-demand catalogs rise: advances cut production time by two-thirds

Article Abstract:

On-demand product catalogs are becoming popular due to advanced printing and database technology. Printing time has become so fast that catalogs can be printed and delivered to customers within 24 hours. The on-demand method cuts printing time to about one-third of desktop publishing printing time. It also prints update version in about one-fourth of the time required under traditional methods. However, this approach requires sophisticated tools.

Business Marketing's 1997 analysis of advertising agencies indicate that the top 100 companies, which engage in business-to-business advertising, have grossed more than $1 B in 1996, an increase of 22% over that of 1995 figures. TMP Worldwide Inc., which is the top Yellow Pages advertising agency in the world, ranked as number one with gross income reaching $151 M. CommonHealth USA ranked as number two with gross income of over $85 M.
