Micro Focus: recovery talk

Article Abstract:

Micro Focus has seen a drop in its share price from a high reached in 1993. The company is a leader world wide in the Cobol market and there are around a million Cobol programmers over the world working on mainframe programs. The company provides toolkits which are used by these programmers. Networked PCs are seen as a rival for mainframes and this has led to lower sales for Micro Focus programs. The company has refocused on the Internet and networking and should be helped by work needed to prepare for the millemmium change.
