Modernising an old stalwart

Article Abstract:

VSA 5 is a program which relies on work carried out in the 1930s by Richard Wyckoff, and applied by Tom Williams who has worked as a trader and analyst for some 30 years. Williams has written a book entitled 'The Undeclared Secrets of the Stock Market' which is supplied with VSA 5. The core of the software is volume spread analysis which relates to the relationship between market activity volumes and the distance between highs and lows of stock prices. VSA 5 is mainly used for trading futures, but also includes a feature for equity option and equity investors.

Stuck on the horns of a trading systems dilemma

Article Abstract:

UK investors may consider trading systems as guides to buying and selling shares. They are software which usually uses technical analysis and have been sold in the US for some years. They have appeared in the UK more recently, and investors should carry out research before buying a trading system. There are fewer private investors in the UK, so fewer products aregeared to the UK market. Some trading systems are transparent while others do not reveal their workings.
