Stabilographic analysis of unconstrained standing

Article Abstract:

This article discusses a study conducted to understand postural changes during unconstrained standing. The authors examine unconstrained standing and posture change under the scrutiny of four hypothesis; mechanical loading, visual conditions, type of support surface, and sole of the shoes, and conclude that physiological conditions influence the amount of postural change.

Tangential load sharing among fingers during prehension

Article Abstract:

The force sharing among the fingers during static prehension under systematic loading and postural changes is examined. The testing made showed that the factors like TRIAL, LOAD MAGNITUDE, SUBJECT, HAND POSTURE and LOAD DIRECTION did not affect the sharing pattern and also suggested that loading directions should be considered when designing tools that require functional tangential forces for successful task completion.

Multi-digit maximum voluntary torque production on a circular object

Article Abstract:

The experiments are conducted to study the individual digit-tip forces and moments during torque production on a mechanically fixed circular object. The experiment results have concluded that the maximum torque in the closing direction is larger than in the opening direction.
