N.Korea nuke talks: Progress, but no win yet - experts

Article Abstract:

The experts from an international forum for resolving the North Korean nuclear issue believe that their efforts for its peaceful dismantlement have reached a major crossroad. The agreement signed by the six parties on September 19, 2005, covers a wide range of points, starting with North Korea's agreement to dismantle its nuclear program and return to compliance with the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty and the rules of the United Nations' International Atomic Energy Agency.

Analyst: Don't let North Korea wrest too much from talks

Article Abstract:

A defense analyst with Heritage Foundation who specializes in strategic and nuclear issues revealed that the US needed to be wary of entering into a nuclear disarmament agreement with North Korea. He explained that the US should not allow North Korea to interpret a signed, sealed agreement in ways favorable to itself but not intended by the US, such as guaranteeing the survival of the Stalinist regime under even extreme circumstances.

England moves on DOD acquisitions reform

The Pentagon is assembling a committee that will recommend a roadmap for streamlining and simplifying acquisition process throughout the US Department of Defense. Gordon England, acting deputy secretary of defense, is making his selection of members of the committee, which will report its findings back to him.
