Newport News Shipbuilding, Newport News, Va., is being awarded a $33,119,299 modification to previously awarded contract N00024-98-C-2909 for work necessary to accomplish the defueling, inactivation, and preparation for tow of USS Narwhal (SSN 671). Work will be performed in Newport News, Va., and is expected to be completed by April 2000. The contract funds will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Arlington, Va, is the contracting activity.
