Navy says MMA order could rise

Article Abstract:

Captain Steve Eastburg, Navy program manager for the Multi-Mission Maritime Aircraft (MMA) stated that the service's plans to acquire 108 of the militarized airliners presuppose the purchase of 50 unmanned aerial vehicles by the Broad Area Maritime Surveillance program, known as BAMS. The Navy could acquire more Boeing 737-800 aircraft for long-range patrol if a program for unmanned scout aircraft does not pan out as planned.
