NetWorld: an air of 'our day has come.' (Info Tech Marketing)

Article Abstract:

NetWorld 93 introduced new user-friendly products designed to link together in a network dissimilar computers and networks. The qualities which influenced the computer purchases of companies include price and ease of use. WordPerfect Office 4.0 was favorably received as a user-friendly software which provides electronic mail, personal calendaring and group scheduling. Other products which were promoted at the show include Canon USA's Canon 500 which, in addition to copying, can print and scan to and from a computer through a network.

Image marketing starts with CEO

Article Abstract:

The need to adopt an effective corporate communications strategy during a corporate spin-off is stressed in the light of forecasts that the decade of the 1990s will be the 'Decade of the Spin-Offs.' For such image marketing, a commitment from the chief executive officer is considered essential. Several suggestions are offered for the corporate communications practitioner to maximize the full potential of the spin-off strategy.

Info tech leaders believe in magic

General Magic plans to develop a software that will provide a common language for data transmission among computer brands and communication tools. The Mountain View, CA-based firm hopes the new standard language will lead to the marketing of a wide range of new hand-held computers. It has invited industry leaders Apple Computer, AT&T, Matsushita, Motorola, Philips and Sony to participate in the project.
