Milan's International Furniture Fair was relocated to a new exhibition center in developing Rho-Pero suburb and showcases world's best and glitz furniture. It has wares from 2,500 exhibitors from Italian designer Moroso to Tomita Kazuhiko and Toshiyuki Kita's Saruyama Island collection and has modular sofas, chairs, folding stools, lighting units, tapestry and many other furniture items.

The International Design Conference in Aspen that had fallen on hard times in the 1990s is poised for a comeback. Ideas for a new Aspen Conference were mooted at the meeting organized by the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA) in June 2005.
