Digital and analog convergence evidenced in new products

Digital and analog convergence is a common feature among cameras introduced at the 2000 Photo Marketing Assn International Convention and Trade Show. Camera manufacturers Fuji Photo USA Inc and Canon USA Inc have launched their respective Advanced Photo System cameras. Meanwhile, Olympus America Inc's Digital and Imaging Systems Group has unveiled its C-3030 ZOOM 3.34 megapixel filmless digital zoom camera.

Digital cameras going mainstream

Article Abstract:

Digital still cameras had a strong showing in 1999, posting $1 billion in sales for that year, according to NPD Intelect. Digital camcorders also posted impressive figures during the year, capturing nearly 6% of the overall camcorder market from almost zero the previous year. Photo specialty stores are emerging as the primary distribution channel for the digital products.

New consumer/SOHO digital imaging software on the market; new-generation computer programs are simpler and easy-to-use, address specific segments

Adobe is among the software publishers which have introduced a new set of digital-imaging software programs that are consumer-friendly and designed with the Windows computers in mind. The software publisher, which earned distinction for the reliable Photoshop 5.0 and its sibling Adobe PhotoDeluxe, has unveiled Adobe Photo Deluxe Business Edition. The newest Adobe product constitutes part of the emerging trend where imaging programs are specificaly aimed at SOHO (small office, home office) business users. The software application seeks to aid small enterprises so photos could be customized and documents could have that professional look.
