Next has increased its turnover more rapidly than selling space and holds a 3% stake in the apparel market in the UK. Next Directory performed well in 1994, and is used to trial new products prior to launching them in Next stores. The company is expanding abroad cautiously and is entering the French, US and Middle Eastern markets. Next uses conservative accounting methods and this makes the company's results less flattering than if more agressive methods were used.
