'Three M Hears You' - Being a Good Listener Pays Off

The new advertising campaign by 3M Corp. is a marketing strategy to present its corporate image. The company restructured its goods and services into market sectors. The theme of the campaign tells customers that 3M has employed technology to solve customer problems. Corporate advertising was aimed at each market sector. Advertising was placed in general business publications and upscale consumer magazines. The campaign has been consistent and is showing positive results according to 3M's sales force.

Business-to-business marketing has undergone an evolution. Industry has been moving toward a consumer oriented sales approach. Industry was hampered by a narrow marketing vision. Corporate communications have expanded. Buying behavior for corporate products and services is complex and unrestricted. The trend in corporate image advertising helps to promote the entire business enterprise. Industrial marketing is becoming more sophisticated and more effective.
