On Bond Ratings and Pension Obligations: A Note

Article Abstract:

In 1974 ERISA changed the capital structure of firms by subordinating debentures to pension liability. Pension costs and liabilities were included in Moody's bond survey. The inclusion of ERISA improved the predictability of bond ratings with significant improvement of lower quality bonds.

On the Estimation Risk in First-Order Stochastic Dominance: A Note

Article Abstract:

Kroll and Levy's evaluation of the estimation risk in first-order stochastic dominance considers two types of errors. Tests are proposed to discover more easily type 1 error probabilities. Assumption is made that both options have been sampled from the same return distribution.
