Article Abstract:

Salomon Brothers investment bank won a mandate for Bangko Sentral ng Bangko Sentral ng Philipinas (BSP), the central bank, after several attempts to make the deal. The deal involves managing the Bangko's restructured US$500-million Yankee bond deal. Deteriorating market conditions marred the first attempt to make the deal. Salomon has wound up selling the entire bond issue on its own without forming a new syndicate.
