Pitch experiences, not destinations, says travel editor

Article Abstract:

NBC's 'Today Show' Travel Editor Peter Greenberg recommends that public relations (PR) professionals promote experiences rather than destinations in their travel articles and press kits. Greenberg believes that the biggest problem with PR travel publicists is that they continue to submit video footage prepared for use by marketing/sales departments. He argued that travel is news and not just pretty pictures. He noted that PR people have to understand that it is the travel journalists' job to present factual data and not to promote clients.
