Plenty of value for choosy investors

Article Abstract:

The United Kingdom stock warrants sector tends to see periods of stagnation and then periods of rising activity and prices. UK stock warrants saw price rises in spring 1998, though they had fallen out of favor earlier in 1998. World stock markets appear to have peaked in April 1998 but there are still gains even when many companies are seeing stock price falls. Stocks of smaller companies have been helped by this development, and this is also true of trusts specialising in smaller firms which have seen a rise in their portfolio values and a drop in discounts to asset value.

Value remains

Article Abstract:

The United Kingdom stock market may still be able to offer some value, although dividend yields have dropped, according to Dresdner Kleinwort Benson. Yields are not reliable indicators of stock price trends, and this is especially true when stock buy-backs have become common. The drop in yields has also been uneven, and investors can target those areas where yields have fallen by very little, such as the resources and services sectors.
