Plusmark Business Management System

Article Abstract:

Plusmark Business Systems Ltd's 395 to 795 pound sterling Plusmark Business Management System (PBMS) is an accounting software package which comprises seven modules: nominal ledger, costing analysis ledger, cash book, purchase ledger, sales ledger, inventory management, and payroll. PBMS is supplied on 20 diskettes requiring four to five megabytes of disk space. PBMS runs under on systems such as PC-DOS, MS-DOS and Novell Network. The system is menu-driven with multi-layered structure. With Infolink utility, the system can interface with popular spreadsheet packages such as 1-2-3, database management systems such as dBase, and word processing systems such as Wordstar. The system is well-documented and a telephone hot-line is provided for the over 2,000 current users. PBMS is well-suited to small companies but not large ones. Plusmark Ltd does, however, make custom software.

The UK market for luggage, which is divided into three main groups, namely, soft cases, hard cases and holdalls, is examined. Market developments have been influenced by travel trends which called for luggages that are suited to exotic destination areas such as Thailand, India and South America. Sales prospects tend to be on the incline compared to that of 1994 while the market is bound to be dominated by imported products coming from the Far East.

Newer generations of DMMs provide users with improved accuracy through more display resolution, true root mean squared AC measurements and upgraded capabilities, including graphical waveform displays, time-stamping of minimum/maximum values, dual-measurement displays and trend plotting.
