Policske Strojirny gets to black numbers

Article Abstract:

Policske strojirny (PS) (Policka, Czech Republic), engineering firm, saw a profit of CEK 817,000 in 2000 compared to a loss of over CEK 56 mil in 1999. The firm's proceeds totalled nearly CEK 600 mil in 2000, 184% more compared to 1999. The proceeds growth was influenced mainly by export contracts on goods of a special character. The firm's proceeds totalled CEK 217.6 mil in 2000, 17% more compared to 1999. Its value added rose by 37% to nearly CEK 109 mil in 2000 compared to 1999. Its productivity of labour from value added per employee exceeded CEK 250,000 in 2000, 63% more compared to 1999. Its bank credits decreased by 16% to nearly CEK 48 mil in 2000 compared to 1999. The firm manufactures fuel measuring and pumping equipment, pneumatic elements and ammunition.

Horicke Strojirny saw a profit in 2000

Horicke strojirny (HS) (Horice, Czech Republic), engineering firm, saw a net profit of over CEK 1 mil in 2000, one-third less compared to 1999. The firm will use the 2000 profit for investments. Its proceeds rose by CEK 4 mil to more than CEK 43 mil in 2000 compared to 1999. HS exports about 80% of its total production. The firm has 55 employees. Its products line includes mainly lorry undercarriage components and high-lift truck additional cleaning equipment.

Its proceeds totalled CEK 447 mil in 2000, 24% more compared to CEK 361 mil in 1999. The firm has a stock of CEK 413.5 mil and 386 employees. It has a 61% majority stake held by Sokolovska obchodni (Sokolov, Czech Republic).
