Potent and persistent in vivo anti-HBV activity of chemically modified siRNAs

Article Abstract:

A study examines the efficacy of lipid-encapsulated, chemically modified short interfering ribonucleic acid (siRNA) targeted to hepatitis B virus (HBV) in an in vivo mouse model of HBV replication. Results demonstrate that siRNA targeted to HBV and formulated as a stable nucleic-acid-lipid particle (SNALP) has high potency and activity in cell culture.

Know the enemy

Article Abstract:

The sequencing of 169 avian influenza virus (AIV) genomes provides a much-needed boost to preparations for a pandemic. The genetic data will facilitate understanding of the specific components of AIV that cause damage to the human body and provide basis for developing effective vaccines and therapies.

Antibody mediated in vivo delivery of small interfering RNAs via cell-surface receptors

Article Abstract:

A protamine-antibody fusion protein to deliver small interfering RNA to HIV-infected or envelope-transfected cells is designed. The potential for systemic, cell-type specific, antibody-mediated siRNA delivery is demonstrated.
