Pots of potential at Groupe Chez Gerard

Article Abstract:

Groupe Chez Gerard is a restaurant concern located in London, England, which has been successfully launched on the stock market. Deprecaition policy has been changed reflecting lives of leases rather than their last five years. This affected pre-tax profit for 1994 to 1995. The company has been cautious in its acquisitions, and the restaurants have been successful. The company's profit is forecast at 2.85 million pounds sterling for 1995 to 1996 by Greig Middleton, and could rise to 3.65 million pounds for the following year.

Pelican: attractive recipe

Article Abstract:

Pelican is a UK company involved in theme restaurants. The company has expanded rapidly which has led to concerns over Pelican's ability to cope with growth, in turn affecting share prices. The company has invested in staff training and this is reflected in an improved performance. The expansion program is being slowed to between 15 and 20 restaurants to be opened from 1996 to 1997. This should stabilize Pelican's borrowings. The company could be a target for a bid by a large leisure concern.

Greenhills serves up old classics

Article Abstract:

Greenhills flotaed in 1995 and has joined the UK Alternative Investment Market (Aim). The company operates themed restaurants and is opening new restaurants in 1996. The flotation raised 3 million pounds sterling which has helped fund an Easy Rider restaurant which is being completed in London, England. Dream Factory restaurants could also be set up throughout Europe. The company's shares are seen as fairly priced in Jan 1995, since it is difficult to assess when profits will begin to flow.
