CKD Blansko's new owner is Cash and Capital

CKD Blansko Strojirny (CKDBS) (Blansko, Czech Republic), engineering firm, expects outputs of nearly CEK 800 mil per year by 2003. The trade company Cash and Capital (CC) (Czech Republic), CKDBS's owner, has provided the firm with the property of the hydro-electric power plant turbine manufacturer CKD Blansko (CKDB) (Blansko, Czech Republic) worth about CEK 350 mil and an investment of CEK 60 mil. CC wants to finance further development of CKDBS from a credit of nearly CEK 200 mil. CKDB, which has about 800 employees currently, had been under bankruptcy proceedings from 1997. CC bought CKDB for less than CEK 200 mil.

Balakom commissions a new line

Article Abstract:

Balakom (Opava, Czech Republic), paint and varnish producer, commissioned a new CEK 30 mil water-based paint line at end Mar 2001. Domestic, Danish and Swiss technology was used for the installation. The new technology will allow to remove the mark Xn, which indicates harmful goods, from the firm's products. The new line will enable the firm to get to the western European markets. Balakom produces wood and metal paints and varnishes.
