Private banking: players proliferate as demand increases

Article Abstract:

European private bankers expect growth to continue for the five years from 1994 to 1995, according to a survey by Price Waterhouse. Relationship banking has been replaced by banking based on products among the major clearing banks. This has led to some dissatisfied customers moving to private banks. Larger banks are developing services for wealthier clients. The newly wealthy and high income earners are replacing those who have inherited wealth among the customers of private banks.
