Publishers eye Disney b-to-b titles

Article Abstract:

Financial investors and foreign publishers are expected to participate in the bidding war for the business-to-business publishing sector of Capital Cities/ABC which new owner Walt Disney put on the market early 1997. One estimate puts the value of the trade titles between $800 million and $1 billion while another more conservatively pegs it between $350 million and $450 million. Marketers who rely on trade magazines to attract their customers are likely to be significantly affected by the sale, regardless of what company emerges triumphant.
