Quant corner looks at Biotech

Article Abstract:

Biotechnological firms have increased their insider trading volume in anticipation of future revenues. Many firms in this sector lack capital resources and are thus in the market for long-term profits. The Signal II model predicts that such firms generally reap sizeable earnings around six months to a year from the release of its recommendations. Among the more notable firms in this category are AutoImmune and Alkermes.
