PALANTIR, produced by Designer Software in Houston, Texas and marketed in the United Kingdom by Developed Software Products, Ltd., is tested on the IBM Corp. Personal Computer. It is a user-friendly wordprocessing software package. Often, only two letter commands are necessary; even backup and save are one command processes. Commands for actual text management are described. They are flexible and simple. The mailout functions of PALANTIR are likewise user friendly. File nesting provides the capabilities of combining more than one file when printing. Many variables that are allowed in the text of a letter are included.

Hewlett-Packard has come up with a workmanlike plotter that is at home with most micros. It produces charts and tests speedily - in color and highly readable. Graphics can be produced on paper or other media such as viewgraph transparency film. Multi-color graphics can be achieved by programmed or front-panel selection of two pens. It is possible to draw arcs, make ticks, put a speeched character at each data point, draw various line patterns and apply label.
