Reconstituted KN Energy taps into Rockies' gas pool

Article Abstract:

KN Energy Inc's growth potential is reflected in its strategic location in the Rockies, where the natural gas pool has not been optimized. The firm's KN Interstate operation receives gas from producers situated in central Kansas to north central Montana. Two interstate pipeline facilities, namely, the Rocky Mountain Gas and Northern Gas of Wyoming, also operate in conjunction with KN Interstate to service the daily requirements of 220,000 people. KN Energy also has several joint ventures in gas exploration and production. The company has acquired Coors Energy Co for $2.6 million.

Swift launches streamlined oil and gas partnerships

Article Abstract:

Oil and gas firm Swift Energy Co has launched a seven-year plan to restore investor confidence in oil and gas limited partnerships. Swift Depository Interests (SDI), a no-load fund of $300 million, forms the core of the plan. SDI relieves the investor of the front-end loads and provides for the liquidation of assets over a pre-determined period of time. However, the costly implementation of SDI contributed to a decline in corporate revenues and earnings in 1991.
