Remove RRSP limitation?

Article Abstract:

Proponents of the removal of the 20% limit on foreign investments within registered retirement savings plans (RRSP) believe that the money from the investment limit would be better off invested in Canada Pension Plan funds where it could grow to around $125 billion in 10 years. On the other hand, those in favor of increasing or retaining the RRSP limit believe that investors will have increased profits from foreign investments. This is indicated by the Canadian dollar's depreciation in relation to the US dollar, as well as the government's continued reliance on foreign capital,

The "dollarization" debate

Article Abstract:

The implementation of the euro currency unit has sparked a fresh round of debate pertaining to a similar common currency unit for the Americas. This 'dollarization' notion became the major economic issue of the media early in 1999. A single currency is an attractive proposition for Latin America, most of whose nations' economies are linked to the fortunes of the American dollar. Supporters of a common North American currency believe it would benefit Canada, whose economy is widely integrated with that of the US.

Difficult non-intervention
