Space tourism: a response to continuing decay in the US civil space financial support

Article Abstract:

The declining financial support for the US space programme can be revitalized if the government cooperates with the private sector in re-evaluating space policy so that more emphasis is placed on attracting more public participation. The civil space community can develop a space transportation service for approximately two million people, who are interested in visiting space. This business activity can generate at least $10 billion per year.
