Royal and Sun Alliance

Article Abstract:

Royal and Sun Alliance has seen a drop in its stock price and a stock buy-back is possible, especially since none has been carried out since a new chief executive, Bob Mendelsohn, was appointed. The company is faced with competition in the United Kingdom market and this affects its ability to make cost savings from the merger which created it. RSA has hidden value and the stocks are unlikely to be undervalued over the longer term. An insurer from mainland Europe could also make a bid for the company.
