Structural vs. relational embeddedness: Social capital and managerial performance

Article Abstract:

The impact of manager's social capital on managerial performance is examined by comparing the two dimensions of social capital, that is the structural embeddedness and relational embeddedness. The resource exchanges within the firms is consider as key to value creating behaviors and contributes a deeper understanding of how social capital influences productive resource exchanges.

More than network structure: how knowledge heterogeity influences managerial performance and innovativeness

Article Abstract:

The individual managerial performance, both overall and in generating innovation is discussed. However, findings indicate that while network structure matters, access to heterogeneous knowledge is significant for overall managerial performance and of greater importance for innovation performance.
